First Service Held in New Edifice in Maryland

On November 27, 2005, we held our last Sunday worship service at Orr Elementary School.  As we were looking forward to moving in our new edifice, we were thankful to the school administrator for providing us with a place to worship while our new church was being erected.

Finally, after two years of building, the new church was now ready for us to move in; and on December 3, 2005, we held our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Central Baptist Church of Camp Springs, located at 5600 Old Branch Avenue, Camp Springs, MD.  It was a glorious occasion in the name of the Lord.  On December 4, 2005, we held our first Sunday worship services in our new building at 7:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.  We praised God for blessing us so bountifully.

On February 26, 2006, at the 10:45 a.m. worship service, we held our first Baptism at our new church; we observed the baptismal pool where eight candidates were baptized.

The dedication of our church to God began on May 15-19, 2006, with a week of evening services, culminating on Sunday, May 21, 2006, at 10:45 a.m. with a Homecoming Service.  The theme was Praising God for a Marvelous Thing!  Psalms 98 and 118:23. Dr. Earl A. Ross, a son of Central and Pastor of Randall Memorial Baptist Church, preached at the service.
